INDUSTRIAL SALES REP

Utilizing your initiative and superior sales skills you will ensure strategic sales objectives are successfully implemented for sales accounts throughout the territory.

Specifically, you will be challenged to:
·    Effectively coordinate relevant sales and sales promotions throughout the assigned sales territory.
·    Provide fast and efficient account service and give feedback covering all aspects of our business.
·    Meet and exceed predetermined sales goals and objectives for your territory.

Your skills include:
·    The ability to provide superior verbal communication (in person or over the telephone) and in writing (email, texts, reports) to customers, colleagues, and others.
·    The ability to achieve results in developing new account business throughout the territory with a demonstrated record of success based on an expanding customer roster.
·    A self-motivated and confident personality that helps you achieve sales objectives with minimum supervision.
·    An ability to be relied upon to meet deadlines, complete reports and other documents as required and generally ensure that the necessary administrative needs of the territory are attended to.

Your experience includes:
·    3 to 5 years’ industrial and/or retail sales experience with power tools or related products.

Frequent overnight travel will be required.

This position reports to the Regional Sales & Service manager – BC & Yukon.

Job Title : End User / Product Application Specialist

Makita Canada Inc. currently has a vacancy in Whitby, Ontario for an End User / Product Application Specialist.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • End User / Application Specialist will add value to the relationships between Makita Canada and the end user community in Canada.
  • End User / Application Specialist will establish, maintain and grow relationships with targeted and strategic end users and end user organizations in Canada.
  • These relationships will result in the overall sales growth for Makita Canada; sales growth in specific and targeted products and product categories; establishment and maintenance of formalized end user programs; and successful execution of product and brand conversions.
  • End User / Application Specialist will undertake product and market research as requested by senior management.
  • End User / Application Specialist will participate in events and shows that offer direct access to and with the professional / industrial end user community in Canada.
  • End User / Application Specialist will keep accurate records of call activities and sales successes related to target products and/or brand conversions. These reports will be shared and communicated within Makita Canada for follow-up and replication in other regions. These reports will be summarized in a monthly report.
  • End User / Application Specialist will actively solicit, support and work with strategic dealers on joint sales calls and other initiatives resulting in mutual benefit to the dealer and Makita Canada.
  • End User / Application Specialist will provide product training and demonstrations to end users and end user organizations as required.

 Time Allocations:

  • End User Calls / Joint Sales Calls / Conversion Activities (90% of time)
  • Targeted / Professional / Industry Shows / Events   (10% of time)
  • Travel requirements of End User / Application Specialist will vary depending on the location of their assigned territory; extensive overnight travel will be required.

 Qualifications:

  • Ideally, 2-5 years of product demonstration or sales experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience as a power tool user.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with a wide variety of end users and customers.
  • Degree or diploma an asset.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.

Makita Canada Inc. offers a competitive base salary ($45,000 range dependent upon qualifications and experience), a generous quarterly bonus/commission structure; pick-up truck (including associated operating costs); notebook computer and cellular phone; full travel and work-related expense reimbursement; and a generous company-paid benefits program and group retirement plan.
