Job Title : Category Sales Specialist - Cleaning Solutions

Based out of our Lower Mainland, BC Sales Office in Richmond, BC, this position has responsibilities for a territory focused on sales opportunities primarily in British Columbia, but that will also include travel to Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The key responsibilities for this position will include assisting Makita Canada grow its revenue and market share of products within the vacuum, facility maintenance and dust control / extraction categories, and will be accomplished through serving as Makita Canada’s “category expert” in western Canada with the support of the regional sales and service teams in their efforts to generate targeted sales and product demand.

 

Specific requirements for the position will include:

  • Preparation and delivery of product training to sales teams and service teams.
  • Participating in events and meetings in the regions and territories in support of targeted product sales
  • Participating and assisting in joint sales calls and meetings with relevant dealers
  • Preparation and participation at presentations for meetings with potential speciality dealers (including national accounts).
  • Participating in the design and development of new product sales kits to be distributed when applicable products are introduced and launched in the market.  Those “kits” would include:
    1. Product specifications
    2. Product features and benefits
    3. Comparative competition information
    4. Packaging and product info (as supplied by our Technical Department)
    5. Product Images (as supplied by Marketing Department)
    6. Sales literature (created in association with the Marketing Department) such as “leave behinds”, retail literature, POP material, etc.
    7. Video content if required (once again, created in association with our Marketing Department)
  • Coordinating and participating in worthwhile JanSan industry shows and networking events with a focus on western Canada.
