You will be responsible for the development of sales through relationship building and the promoting, presenting, educating, and demonstrating the full range of Makita products to distributors, contractors, and end users within your assigned territory.

What will you work on?

  • Travel throughout assigned territory to establish, maintain, and grow relationships with ongoing and potential customers.
  • Undertake product and market research as requested by senior management.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, events and training sessions for distributors, contractors, and end users to increase product awareness and drive sales
  • Report on end-user activity, market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to your Regional Sales Manage
  • Prepare monthly reports on activities and sales, share and communicate the report within Makita Canada.
  • Actively solicit, support and work with strategic dealers on joint end user calls and other initiatives resulting in mutual benefit to the dealer and Makita Canada.
  • Keep and submit accurate records of monthly sales reports, call reports, expense reports, odometer reports, and itinerary
  • Manage and maintain your own demonstration tools and sales materials
  • Perform all company functions per municipal, provincial, federal laws and company policies
  • Other job-related activities, duties, and projects, as assigned.

To be successful you will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in product demonstration/sales.
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Safe driving record (driver’s abstract required)

What you bring to the team?

  • Experience: within the tools, construction, commercial building, or outdoor power equipment industries.
  • Mechanical aptitude with solid knowledge and use of power tools.
  • Communication skills (oral and written): communicate in a clear and professional manner, an effective/active listener.
  • Interpersonal skills: relate well with people, effective/active listener, collaborate and work well with others.
  • Teamwork: work cooperatively and effectively with a wide range of individuals, successfully builds relationships.
  • Detailed Orientation: meticulous about managing your time, evaluating your priorities, and accomplishing your goals.
  • Planning/organization: ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently, develops realistic action plans including formal presentations
  • Proficient in MS-Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Travel:

  • Extensive travel throughout the province and some nationally required.
  • Overnight travel will be required.

Salary:

  • $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year plus commissions.
