What will you do?
The Supervisor, Accounting and Finance compiles and presents financial reports, financial statements, budgets, business plans, and commentaries by researching and analyzing accounting data.
What will you work on?
Preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.
Preparation, assistance, reconciliation and analysis with budget, cash flow, fixed asset, income tax, inventory, sales, transfer pricing schedules and other financial reports.
Journal entry review, preparation and posting duties.
Responsible for sales / marketing program reconciliations.
Preparation of bank reconciliations and government tax remittances.
Assistance with scheduling and obtaining required information for company audits including liaise with corporate, external and government auditors.
Liaise with other finance and Makita employees.
Supervision of accounting staff and liaise with Makita employees.
Other accounting related functions which may be assigned including financial analysis reports.
To be successful you will have:
Education – 3rd or 4th year CPA / Undergrad Business or Accounting degree / diploma required.
5 + years experience working in accounting or finance department in a business environment including knowledge and experience with all accounting functions.
What you bring to the team:
Superior organization skills with ability to plan workload and multitask to meet tight deadlines and produce results.
Comprehensive knowledge of SOX, accounting theory and standards including IFRS, ASPE, and US GAAP.
Superior Excel skills are required as majority of duties will be conducted on very complex worksheets. MS Excel will be tested during interview process.
Proficiency with MS-Office programs (Access, Word, and Outlook)
Costing knowledge.
Knowledge of BPCS/AS400 based software would be a definite asset.
Fluent in English, strong communication skills, (verbal and written) and professional demeanor.
Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
Self starter with good learning ability who would work well independently and in a team environment.
Adaptable to change and to manage in a fast-paced environment.
Salary:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
