Find My Repair LocationYes. Shipping your tool to a Makita Factory Service Centre is free. We email you a prepaid Purolator label with the repair location address. If the repair is covered under warranty, there is no cost to you. For repairs not covered under warranty, Makita collects full payment for the repair and shipping fees before the tool is shipped back to you.
Yes. Direct Repair requests are created and tracked through your Makita account, where you enter your tool details and receive your shipping label. If you would rather not create an account, you can bring your tool to any Factory or Authorized Repair Location instead.
Most repairs are completed within approximately 3 business days once your tool arrives at the Factory Repair Location. Purolator shipping time to and from the repair location is additional, and repairs may take longer during periods of high volume or if parts are out of stock.
Packages that weigh more than 50 lbs, measure more than 108" in length, or more than 165" in length plus girth (L+2W+2H) cannot be shipped through Direct Repair. Bring the tool directly to a Factory Repair Location instead; there are no size or weight limits for in-person drop-off.
Include your battery and charger when they are related to the reported issue. If you need to send a battery by itself, please contact a Makita Factory Service Centre before you ship so we can confirm the current shipping requirements.
For repairs not covered under warranty, you may request an estimate before any repair work begins, and repairs only proceed once you authorize them. If you have questions about your options after receiving an estimate, contact the Factory Service Centre handling your repair.
A purchase receipt may be required to verify warranty coverage. Have your model number, serial number and date code ready (all on the tool’s nameplate), and keep your receipt handy if you are requesting a warranty repair.
Yes. Repair by Mail supports shipments containing more than one tool, provided the complete package meets the size and weight limits. For high-volume commercial repairs, please contact us.
Your tool is shipped to a Makita Factory Service Centre, where factory-trained technicians repair it using genuine Makita parts. Your prepaid label is already addressed to the repair location.

*For repairs not covered under warranty, the customer may request an estimate prior to repair. If authorized by the customer, the repairs will proceed and upon completion the customer will be informed of the actual costs.
