As a Senior Technician in our Factory Service Centre you are key to our after-sales service. You are responsible for assisting customers with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, able to meet corporate goal for tech output, training new technicians, supporting the sale of accessories, and parts, as well as answering general product questions.

What will you work on?

  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients/dealers and the public.
  • Visually inspecting and testing products/equipment.
  • Dismantling products/equipment and repairing within Makita Canada Inc. standards.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
  • Assemble and test tools to ensure proper performance levels.
  • Able to meet corporate standard for repair output.
  • Notify customers, via phone and email, of repair estimate, completed repairs and orders ready for pick up.
  • Ensures the appropriate service levels are maintained in the Factory Service Centres.
  • Maintaining inventory of parts and accessories.
  • Ensuring the Factory Service Centre is professional, clean, and organized consistent with the Makita brand image.
  • Able to train new technicians to repair Makita products.
  • Sometime perform duties in the reconditioning department.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

To be successful you will have:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related experience repairing tools/equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.

What you bring to the team?

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to train other staff members.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize your work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving an asset.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, with the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, also includes a lot of reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and twisting.

Salary:

  • $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
