Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating professional, product-focused marketing materials that support Makita dealers and help drive product sales. The primary focus of this position is the development and production of dealer sales materials, including promotional flyers, product feature sheets, point-of-sale materials, retail graphics and other marketing collateral. The Graphic Designer will also provide ongoing product image and digital asset support, working with a large library of product photography and marketing assets to ensure images are organized, prepared and available for a variety of marketing needs. This is a hands-on design and production role requiring strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

 

This position is based at Makita Canada's Head Office in Whitby, Ontario.

What You Will Work On

  • Design and produce dealer flyers, promotional materials and product sales collateral.
  • Develop point-of-sale materials, retail signage, product feature sheets and other in-store marketing materials.
  • Create creative assets to support product launches, promotions, email, website and social media when required.
  • Adapt existing creative for different campaigns, dealers, formats and applications.
  • Prepare artwork for professional print production.
  • Edit, resize, crop, retouch and prepare product images for print and digital applications.
  • Organize and maintain a large library of product photography and marketing assets.
  • Support Marketing and Sales with product imagery and creative requests.
  • Ensure all creative work follows Makita’s brand standards and visual identity.
  • Manage multiple projects, revisions and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

To Be Successful, You Will Have

  • Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • A strong, current portfolio demonstrating professional design and production skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience with AI-assisted creative tools such as Adobe Firefly.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong image-editing and photo-manipulation skills.
  • Knowledge of professional print production.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with product information and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • French language skills are an asset but not mandatory.

Salary range

  • $45,000 – $57,000
